Mathew 16:27-28 #3 – In Fulfillment of Psalm 2 – The Wrath of The Son

In this video we demonstrate that the context of Mathew 16 (as well as it’s prophetic source – Psalm 2) identifies the coming of Christ in his kingdom (16:27-28) as his coming in judgment to vindicate his own death and the death of his disciples. Based on this framework, the ascension, the transfiguration, and the day of Pentecost must be rejected as possible fulfillments of this passage. Mathew 16:27-28 was fulfilled at the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70, when Christ returned in judgment of the generation who took their stand against him. Through that judgment, the sufferings of Christ – head and body – were vindicated and avenged.
