According to Ezekiel 34, the judgment of the sheep and the goats would take place when “David” would be Shepherd of the sheep, and when the “covenant of peace” was established. This means that the judgment of the sheep and the goats in Mathew 25 (in fulfillment of Ezekiel 34) was not to take place at the end of time or the destruction of the globe, but at the time of the end and the destruction of the Old Covenant world. It is in the new creation in Christ – established in AD70 – that the Covenant of peace and the Kingship of the Son of David exists.
