The biblical and historical “visitations” of the Lord were a time of inspection upon Israel and the nations. Based upon the Lord’s “findings”, the visitation would be for either the destruction of the wicked, or the deliverance of the righteous remnant, and ofter included both. Mathew 24 predicts the AD70 judgment of Old Covenant Israel who had not recognized the time of their visitation, and the AD70 deliverance of the righteous remnant who had embraced it.
