Jesus commanded the great commission-the gospel of the Kingdom- to be preached into all the “world” (oikoumene – Mathew 24:14). Paul declared that the gospel of the Kingdom had been preached to the “ends of the world” (oikoumene) in his lifetime (Romans 10:18). Therefore according to Paul, the great commission was fulfilled in the first century, just like Jesus promised (Mathew 24:14,34).
