Upon hearing Jesus pronounce destruction on Jerusalem (Mathew 24:2), the disciples immediately connect that judgment-destruction with the “coming” (return) of Jesus, and the end of their present age (the Old Covenant age). As we demonstrate by the parallel texts in Mark 13 and Luke 21, this was a valid scriptural connection, one that many today are in desperate need of understanding.
