In this video we powerfully demonstrate that Ezekiel 32:7-8 was one of the prophetic sources for Jesus’ symbolic words in Mathew 24:29. Since Ezekiel’s prophecy of the judgment of Egypt was fulfilled in history through Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, that means that the “cosmic language” in Ezekiel was in fact nothing more than a symbolic “judgement metaphor”. Therefore, when Jesus quotes the same “cosmic language” of Ezekiel in exactly the same context – the judgment of a nation (Israel), we have absolutely no biblical authority to make Jesus’ words refer to a future literal destruction of the solar system. Instead, we have a responsibility and absolute biblical authority to interpret Jesus’ words – in light of their prophetic source and it’s context – as the impending judgment of Old Covenant Israel by the Romans which was accomplished in AD70.
