Mathew 24 – Part 62 – Jerusalem Judged as “Spiritual Egypt”

When we understand that Old Covenant Israel of the first century had spiritually become “Egypt” (Revelation 11:8), which true-Israel was being deceived and tempted to “trust in” for salvation (Galatians), we can better appreciate Jesus’ use of Ezekiel 32:7-8 as his prophetic source in Mathew 24:29. Not only would the judgment of Jerusalem be the judgment of Egypt (the house of bondage), but that judgment would forever shatter the “trust” that some had placed upon the Old Covenant world for their deliverance from bondage.
