The judgment and destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 was the definitive sign that Jesus had ascended to the right hand of the Father and received his Kingdom in fulfillment of Psalm 2 and Psalm 110. And, that those who had gathered together against the Lord and against his Anointed, had become the enemies of Jehovah and were therefore being made a footstool under his feet. Those of Israel who had rejected the reign of Christ through his ascension, would find themselves “mourning” when the King returned to punish those who had not submitted to his authority.
