Mathew 24 – Part 71 – The Son of Man in Heaven, Psalm 2 and Acts 4

In this video we demonstrate that the ascension and enthronement of Messiah as prophesied in Psalm 2, also lay behind Jesus’ words, “the Son of Man in heaven” in Mathew 24:30. The judgment and destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 (Mathew 24:29) was the ultimate undeniable sign that Jesus had been enthroned as the Son of God and King of Israel, and had returned in judgment upon those who had rejected and opposed his Kingship. Through Peter’s application of Psalm 2 and Psalm 110 to the Jews of his day, the theme that we developed in Mathew 24:29 is brought into even sharper focus: Old Covenant Israel had become the “rulers”, who together, with the “kings of the earth”, took their stand against the Lord and against his anointed. As such, they would perish in the day of his wrath (Psalm 2:12 Luke 21:20-23).
