In this video we take a look at another prophetic source for Jesus’ phrase, “then all the tribes of the land shall mourn” in Mathew 24:30. The imminent judgment of the northern kingdom of Israel in Amos 8-9 pointed forward to the judgment of Jerusalem in AD70, and “in that day”, the fallen booth of David would be restored and the Gentiles would be called into that “booth”. James undeniably places the restoration of David’s kingdom and the calling of the Gentiles in fulfillment of Amos 9:11-12 in the first century. Based on Zechariah 12 and Amos 8-9, the “mourning” in Mathew 24:30 was the mourning of all tribes of Israel. He whom they had pierced had come on the clouds of heaven….
