In this video we begin to take a second look at the metaphoric and prophetic language in Mathew 24, but this time, through the lens of the “Day of the Lord”. By comparing Mathew 24:30-31 with 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, we identify Mathew 24:30 as the coming of the Son of the Man at the “Day of the Lord”. As we shall see, Jesus’ language of “cosmic destruction” (de-creation) in the context of the Day of the Lord cannot be over emphasized.
