As we continue our study of Mathew 16:27-18, we will begin to look at how Jesus and the New Testament writers drew from this prophecy in their anticipation of the second coming of Christ. As we shall see, the doctrine of the Lord and his apostles identifies the coming of the Son of Man in Mathew 16:27-28 as the second coming of Christ (the Parousia of the Almighty) which they themselves placed within the lifetime of their own generation, at the fall of Jerusalem in AD70.
