In this week’s lesson we explore several Old Testament sources for Christ’s “coming with the clouds” as prophesied in Revelation 1:7. Based on the context of these Old Testament passages as well as their New Testament applications we powerfully demonstrate that Christ’s “coming with the clouds” in Revelation 1:7 was his coming / return to (1) establish covenant-presence with the New Covenant people of God, (2) to judge historical Old Covenant Jerusalem (spiritual Egypt), and (3) to judge to the living and the dead / the wicked and the righteous and to reward the saints with the consummated kingdom of God.
