Studies on The Revelation: Lesson #3: Him who Is, who Was, who is to Come

In this weeks lesson we show what the phrase, “Him who is, and who was, and who is to come” would have meant to a first century audience who was familiar with the Old Testament scriptures. By investigating the Old Testament sources (Exodus 3:14, Isaiah 6, Ezekiel 1) as well as the New Testament usage of this phrase, we conclude that the “Revelation of Jesus Christ” was the glorious coming and unveiling of Christ as God to deliver His saints out of Egypt through the judgment of Babylon, that is, Old Covenant Jerusalem; the city where Jesus was slain.
