In this lesson we explore the 2-fold purpose of Jesus’ parables. First, the parables served to conceal the mysteries of the kingdom of God from the Jews who were indifferent or opposed to their first century spiritual fulfillment. And second, the parables served to reveal the mysteries of the kingdom of God to the righteous remnant of Israel who were ready and willing to perceive and receive the spiritual reality of the kingdom of God. This two-fold purpose of the parables accomplished both the sufferings of Christ (his rejection and crucifixion) and the glories that followed (the exaltation of Christ and His salvation of the faithful of Israel).
