The promise to “build” David a “house” (2 Samuel 7:11-13) was the promise of the Kingdom of Israel through establishment of the church in the New Covenant. The pouring out of the Spirit upon the Gentiles was proof that the Kingdom of Israel (the tabernacle / house of David) was being restored (rebuilt / raised up) in the first century, in fulfillment of the prophetic scriptures.
