Through the power of the Spirit, Jesus demonstrated that the Kingdom of God was being established throughout his ministry. In other words, “signs, miracles and wonders” confirmed his Kingdom message; that the Kingdom would be established in the lifetime of his first century disciples. Just before his ascension Jesus commanded his disciples to continue to preach his gospel, and promised that the same “signs, miracles, and wonders” that had confirmed his message, would now confirm theirs. The miraculous manifestations of the Spirit was proof to Israel that their Kingdom restoration continued to be accomplished, just like like Jesus promised.
