Paul teaches that through faith in Jesus Christ, the Galatians had become heirs of the inheritance promised to Abraham. They like Abraham had been reckoned “righteous by faith”, but had not yet received the “hope of righteousness” – their full inheritance in the New Covenant, and deliverance from the then present evil Old Covenant age.
