In this study, we will seek to understand what Jesus meant when he said that heaven and earth would pass away within the lifetime of his own generation (Mathew 24:34-35). We suggest that this “heaven and earth” which has passed away referred to the entire Jewish economy, the Old Covenant world of Judaism. And, that the “new heaven and new earth” which replaced it referred to the New Covenant world of Christ, the New Covenant order, wherein man is clothed with the righteousness of Christ through faith. If you stand righteous in Christ today through the New Covenant, then you live and abide in God’s new creation, His new heaven and new earth. I noticed you used Jeremiah 31 for the eternal nature of the sun, etc. but God says if the fixed order of lights departs then the nation will cease. Isn’t this fulfilled in acts 2/Joel 2 where the Sun and moon is darkened symbolizing Israel and therefore the physical nation isn’t gods people anymore. But the church?
