Mathew 24 – Part 10 – The End of That Present Age

In Mark 10:29-30, Jesus taught that the kingdom of God would be received in the “age to come” which would replace the then-present Old Covenant age. But, in the parable of the vine-growers of Mathew 21, and the parable of the wedding feast of Mathew 22, Jesus taught that the kingdom of God would be received when Jerusalem and those who had rejected the Son were destroyed. Therefore, the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 marked the end of the then-present Old Covenant age, and established the age to come through which the kingdom of God was received. Jesus teaches this very thing in Luke 21:20-32, which was to be accomplished within the lifetime of his first century contemporary generation.
