The 586BC fulfillment of Zephaniah’s prophecy of the judgment of Judah and Jerusalem at the Day of the Lord clearly defines the “de-creation/cosmic destruction language” used by Jesus, Peter and Paul in their prophecies concerning the Day of the Lord in the New Testament. Since Zephaniah’s language of the Judgment of Judah at the coming (return) of the Lord to both judge and re-gather Israel at the Day of the Lord was not fulfilled literally but metaphorically, then we must understand that very same language in the very same manner when spoken from the lips of Jesus. The Day of the Lord in AD70 as prophesied in Mathew 24, was exactly like the Day of the Lord in 586BC as prophesied by Zephaniah. This is a powerful video, don’t miss it!
